La Digue, by Alfred
Lionel Papagelli, who publishes under the name Alfred, is a self-taught artist who quit his studies to spend all his time making comics. He founded his own publishing house, Ciel Ether, which enabled him to produce his works and to start a profitable collaboration with scenarist Corbeyran. Besides producing several small albums for Ciel Ether, Alfred and Corbeyran made the absurd and poetic comic 'La Digue' for Delcourt, as well as the series 'Abraxas'. Alfred's artwork is strongly reminiscent of Tardi, while his cinematic approach suggests the work of Terry Gilliam and James Cameron. Along with Peyraud, Alfred has produced the western 'Un Colt qu'on en Finisse.'
