Ernest Thélem was a French illustrator and poster artist. He drew for books and published in the magazine La Caricature in the late 19th century. Among the books he illustrated was 'Messieurs les Anglais', a 1890 picture book about the British by J. Serguis.

Thelem was a contributor to magazine Diabolo Journal, a French comics magazine which appeared between 1906 and 1922/23. He wrote and drew the text strip 'L'Ignorant', which was published in 1912.
