Frank Tinsley was the illustrator of the pulp aviation series 'Captain Yank' from 1934. The stories, written by George L. Eaton (in fact a pseudonym for a succession of writers), appeared in Bill Barnes, Air Adventurer and later 'Bill Barnes, Air Trails'. Tinsley left the feature in the late 1930s. Tinsley went on to do the 'Yankee Doodle' newspaper comic, which was soon retitled to 'Captain Yank'. This strip appeared from 1940 to 1945. |
